Does what it advertises!

Overall this program has worked exactly as advertised. It is great for converting almost any file to one that is compatible with Apple TV and Quicktime. So far it hasn’t failed to convert everything I have thrown at it and this version lets you drag and drop more than one file at a time. Great App.

Good but not standing out

If only it has a built in process / cpu limiter, like a power nap mode, that will do the conversion using minimal cpu resourse over night, it will be an outstanding product. Please give us options to set cpu usage limits (temperature control). Also, customer support seems unresponsive???

Smart,fast and easy

Pulls the H.264 out of one container (.mkv) and puts it in another (.mp4) instead of rerendering so it converts as fast as it can copy. It coverts other formats as well but this repackaging trick is it’s killer feature. Haven’t converted enough of other formats yet to comment on overall speed but what I have done seemed to work fine.

Smart Converter Pro 2

Does what it says it will do.

Great App

Love this app and ease of use. 5 stars!!!

Best converter out there

I’ve tried multiple converters over the years and truly this one wins everywhere! I’ve been using the free version for a few years now and decided to get the premium one. Best decision ever! I really recommend this app to anyone that converts lots of video.

trash

trash limited amount of fromats to convert to. all files covered say THIS FILE IS DAMAGED OR INCOMPATIBLE sorry. not so smart its knida sad!!

Quite good

Overall quite good, works well and converted 99% of my files - a few files simple didn’t want to convert, so i had to use another converter that got the job done (don’t know why). The feature of deleting the original file after conversion to another format was very useful for me. I had a bunch of .mpeg file on my iMac - and wanted to convert to .mov files - after the conversion, this tool removes / deletes the original source file.

Way better than the free version!

The free version doesn’t provide much compression, down sampling, resizing dimension or control over formats. The paid version gives many more choices, and queuing many files. Great for converting hundreds of vacation movie files to playable format on any device. Highly recommend paying the small price to save countless hours of manual labour on converting each files.

Awesome Application

Worth every penny. Does exactly as advertised and it saved me from not using my Apple TV ever. The only suggestion I’d have is having an option to have the destination folder as the same folder of the movie, instead of manually choosing one for the whole list, but that really doesn’t take anything from the amazing job this software does. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Easy to use

Love the batch file option, easy to use.

Your grandmother could use it.

Drag, click…. done. No learning about all the various compression methods, audio formats… etc… set the destination, click… done. This is the way software should work. Even supports automation, so it can become part of your work stream.

Just didn’t work for me

I must have done something wrong but I just couldn’t get the app to do what I needed it to do, and that is convert AVI files to MOV that would play on my Mac. Tried the various settings offered and none would satisfy QT. Downloaded a different software and it worked the first time. Based on the other reviews, it must be a user issue.

Works Great

Great for AppleTV Compatibility.

Smart Converter Pro 2

Worth every penny. Best conversion app out there by far.

It works great for me

I was so frustrated, I purchased a Mac, had a PC for years, now as I was transfering pics from a external hard drive (my PC could run these videos prior to my PC laptop breaking) - But as I transfered my MTS format videos my Mac wasn’t running them. I had so many important videos in a MTS format, no idea what MTS even means, all I knew that my honeymoon videos and the birth of my daughter was not working, plus other important videos, and my PC was gone, I only had an external hard drive now, and after investing $1500 on a Mac there was no going back. I did try another Conversion program prior to this one, i downloaded it free. I tried it for 3 days and gave up, i was worried, then I looked at reviews and bit the bullet and purchased this one. Instant success, it was as simple as: 1 OPEN this App...2 Open your files(mine was external hard drive attached to Mac by USB)..(screens both at 1/2 size which happens atomatically).. 3 DRAG numerous videos at once(started off 1 by 1, then as i trusted started with 5 conversetions with no issues)..after you drag over..4 In this App you go to bottom and it says “set destination” you hit where you wish to file(I picked PICTURE FILE of iPhoto) also I picked QUICKTIME..AND CLICK! With in about 30 seconds the files are all converted and running perfectly on my MAC. Ive transfered prob over 100 videos, 1 video didn’t work during conversion, 1 out of 100plus which is just fine, I dont even blame the App it was prob the original video, considering no issues with any of the others. Bottom line this App is Great, if you are like me and are not a Comp tech kind of person, this App is the one, full proof, and it works! Thank you SMART CONVERTER PRO! Rick

You must download

Usefull specially if you have a AppleTv. À télécharger absolument si vous avez un AppleTv.

Generally useful

This is a pretty sweet App, and I have no regrets buying it (although I owned the previous version as well). I enjoy the interface and the conversion of various video types makes it extremely easy to stream all my content to my Apple TV. The one issue I have is a pretty minor one, but worth mentioning: when watching a video with subtitles, depending on how the video is encoded, Smart Converter Pro 2 will not convert it correctly. In other words, the video will display the subtitles in iTunes when you play it on your Mac, but if you try to load it onto your phone or iPad the subtitles are gone. I had to go out and download a third party app that kept the subtitles for a Japanese show I watch. I consider that to be a pretty small issue, though, and it did not have a particularly negative impact on my rating.

Awesome

Excellent! What else can I say? I use this exclusively and have never had an issue.

WHY?

Why when i sync the tv show on my iphone after I converted them, they all go in one folder… they are not categorise by tv show???? like it use to be » »"
