The best video converter I’ve found. Really easy to use and it adds metadata, posters, etc. for you as well.

The latest version is sitting in my Updates window on the App Store and won’t download at all. I keep checking support, and find nothing on how to fix this. The app is great, only 2 stars because I can’t use the latest version since the App Store download is busted and ShedWorx won’t provide the support for an app I paid for. Fix it now.

Update: Yes this app is awesome but Ive had it for years and my TV show pictures still arent the square format that itunes has. This is a problem because in the settings it has a check for “Square Photos for iTunes”. Im bumping it down three stars. If you download movies and tv shows from the internet like I do then this is the perfect app. Not only does it convert and add to itunes but it also adds the Movie cover and information! It automatically scans my downloads folder too so little work is done on my end. Before this I was grabbing the picture from google images which was a hassle. Now eveything is automatically organized thanks to one app. Great job guys.

This program used to be the best. The latest upgrade has slowed down significantly. It seems to hang at 99% for about 1-2 minutes. Didn’t used to do that. It’s not very useful when converting multiple files. It takes FOREVER! Look for an alternative. I know I am.

Do not upgrade to Version 2.2.0 if you use a Apple TV Gen 3 and iTunes to watch your converted videos. I convert .MKV videos and the videos crash every few minutes for the first 30 minutes or so with this upgrade. I had to restore an older version using Time Machine as all videos converted with the latest version were crashing. I have contacted support to ask about this issue but I have not received a response yet. Love the software but not this update. The rating is for this version 2.2.0! Otherwise I would give the software 5 stars easy.

There a serious problem latest PAID version brought along. Movies stopped playing after less than 5 minutes. Please, fix this. I use this app in a daily basis. Thanks.

I buy and download “RiffTrax” regularly. I convert them for APPLE TV 4! Works FANTASTIC! They are in my “Home Video” file in iTunes! Available on all my devices. Greay App.

i used several differnt converters before but this one was one of the fastest and had more choices than the others in formats love this app

This app used to be my go-to for converting files of any kind, but the most recent updates have slowed it down considerably. Most video conversions will hang at 99% and won’t finish. Very frustrating and disappointing, I’m now looking for an alternative.

Application crashes after 4-5 conversions. rendering the que feature unusable. Causes system crash with restart needed to continue. files it does convert work, but you have babysit the application to convert more than a handful of videos. constant unexpected application quits, make this app more frustrating than useful. single file conversions seam to work ok. Looking for a more stable app.

App is overall ok, but has an annoying behavior. If you convert a file, it will add the new file appendix to the name, before the actual appendix. So „Song.m4a" converted to mp3 would show up as: "song - mp3.mp3“. WHY? Seriously. Why?? Who would like to see the same information, doubled by the app?. Very irritating, especially if you do multiple conversions at once. FIX, please, for the love of all which makes sense.. by the way, I do know you can bulk edit files in the recent mac os..

Been using this program for a few years (started with the original Smart Converter Pro). When they brought out Smart Converter Pro 2 I was okay with paying for it again because it’s really a sweet program. Today I tried starting Pro 2 and I get at, "“Smart Converter Pro 2” is demaged and can’t be opened. Delete “Smart Converter Pro 2” and download it again form the App Store.” Okay…so I go to the app store and it tells me I have to pay $15 again. Sorry…already paid for this twice, not going for a third time.

I purchased this today and have already converted roughly 4o videos from .WMV to .MOV. My videos ranged from 10 seconds to about 2 minutes in length and it converted them flawlessly. I haven’t tried any of the other coonversion options, but I converted 20 at once with no issues. I like the simplicity of it. Messing with settings for audio and video codecs that I don’t really want to take the time research is a big plus in my book! I also like how the speed identifier let’s you know what is being converted audio vs audio and video. A "remove all" option in the right click menu would be nice, as well as the ability to play the converted file inside the application.

App has worked just as advertised. Finally upgraded to pro version and was not let down! Love being able to add or subtract subtitles, adding pictures for my movies, and having options to convert to basically any format imagiable. Thanks!!

I don’t like using this. I just bought it today. Can i get a refund?

Does a great job converting, however with folder monitoring turned on the app is in a perpetual state of converting. Fix the loop that causes previous conversions to go through again and you have five stars.

A great price and perfect for converting some of my mkv files to a format that will work on my WD LiveHub.

Such a great application. Used the free version for some time, which is also great, but the pro version is well worth the price. Fantastic!!

At first, I purchased this so I could queue up my conversions. $15 was questionable for that function, but I’m catching up a backlog, so I decided to jump in. I got much more than I expected. Not only can I have it monitor a dropbox folder where I collect videos to, It also goes out, pulls information (like episode name, ratings and artwork) before dropping the files into my iTunes library. The time savings from having me clean up names and add artwork alone make this worth twice the price. It works well, just like the free version. Does everything I need / want without error so far.

Works well for converting files, but even though I checked “Preserve file times” in the Preferences, Adobe Bridge EXIF data lists the Date Created for all converted files as 1/1/04 which totally messes up sorting of files by date created. Please fix this!
